Principal's Message

 

Welcome to Lake Tapps Elementary School where we strive to build a foundation of life-long learning for our young Eagles.  From my first interactions with our staff at Lake Tapps Elementary I have begun to learn what it is that makes this a truly special place to work and learn.  I value strong school-home relationships and I believe that students benefit when they know that everyone is working together for their success.    

Our teaching and support staff are dedicated to meeting the needs of our 450 students, their families, and the community in which we serve.  Assuring the academic growth and achievement of each student while caring for their social and emotional well-being are our primary focus. Students can only learn when they feel that their environment is safe and supportive.  The Lake Tapps Elementary staff works hard to identify students’ needs, acquire and utilize resources to support students, and commit to meeting the unique needs of each student.

Throughout the year students will have opportunities to demonstrate their strengths and passions, challenge themselves with rigorous grade-level learning, and monitor their growth toward both academic and social goals.  Lake Tapps Elementary is more than a school, it is a community.  I encourage all of our families to join in support of our PTA which works hard to provide students and families with fun and engaging activities.  The efforts of our PTA serve to further bind us together as both a school and as a larger community. 

I am thankful for the opportunity to work at such an amazing school, and I am looking forward to our time together.
