About Me

   Integrated Arts
 
   Welcome to another fun year in IA. My name is Mrs. Housden and I have been teaching at Lake Tapps Elementary School for 31 years. I taught in 1st and 2nd grade classrooms for the first 17 years. After I earned my Master’s Degree in Creative Arts, I began teaching Integrated Arts (IA) with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders here at Lake Tapps. Integrated Arts is a combination of art and music.
 
 I love our unique program that engages students in creativity, expression, and imagination. The guidelines for this instruction comes from OSPI’s Arts Learning Standards that describe what students should know and be able to do in Visual Arts and Music.
 
Every child is expected to participate to the best of their ability each day they attend class. I always tell them they don’t have to be the greatest artist or singer, but they must try to do their best.
